Church and Mission – Intensive Course

Intensive Course – September 11-15, 2017

The Presbyterian College/MST offer a one-week intensive, 3-credit course toward the M.Div. degree. This course is designed to introduce students to the mission of the church – exploring theological themes around mission and context, looking at practical approaches to congregational mission, and considering questions around new church development/church planting. The course will also include follow-up webinars and readings. Students not enrolled in an academic program of The Presbyterian College may register as a special student, here. (Verify with your institution whether this course may be transferred into your own M.Div. program.)

The instructor for this course is the Rev. Dr. Roland De Vries, Director of Pastoral Studies at The Presbyterian College. Roland is particularly interested in theological and cultural questions that arise at the point of intersection between the church/gospel and the world. He completed his Ph.D. in theological ethics at McGill University, exploring the thought of Søren Kierkegaard and that of Luce Irigaray (French feminist of sexual difference). For more information on the course, you may contact the instructor at rdevries@pcmtl.ca.
