Welcome to The Presbyterian College

As a theological seminary, the Presbyterian College is a center of theological education and research in which students with the requisite gifts, abilities, and call are prepared for various forms of Christian ministry. The College is open to students and scholars from Canada, the United States of America, and around the world. Maintaining its motto, “Holding forth the word of life” (Philippians 2:16), the College is committed to the scholarly study of the Scriptures and theology in service of the church.

Students are introduced to the broader Christian faith, our own distinctives as part of the Reformed tradition, as well as being provided with opportunities to learn the practice of leadership and ministry, and assisted in their own spiritual growth and development.

Our goal is to develop a new generation of leaders who are called to lead distinctive communities of faith, focused on Christ, founded on Scripture, and empowered by the Holy Spirit.

Founded in 1865, we are a theological College of The Presbyterian Church in Canada. Students benefit from our ecumenical arrangement as part of the Montreal School of Theology (MST), a consortium of three theological colleges: Diocesan College (Anglican), The Presbyterian College, and the United Theological College.

We are affiliated with the Faculty of Religious Studies, McGill University, one of the top rated universities in the world, providing our students with a rigorous academic program. The College is strategically located within a few minutes of the McGill campus and its ecumenical partners, the United Theological College and Diocesan College. It is situated in the heart of downtown Montreal.

As a member of the Montreal School of Theology, we are accredited by the Association of Theological Schools.
