Convocation Speaker and Honorary Doctorate Recipient

Dr. Richard Mouw

The Board of Governors of The Presbyterian College is delighted to announce that Dr. Richard Mouw will receive the Doctor of Divinity degree (honoris causa) at the 2018 Convocation. Dr. Mouw will also serve as Convocation speaker and will give the Graduates’ Lecture.  All events to be held on Tuesday, May 8, 2018.

Richard Mouw is Professor of Faith and Life at Fuller Theological Seminary, where he previously served as President for 20 years (1993-2013). He is a philosopher, scholar, and author who also served for 17 years as professor of philosophy at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He has also served as a visiting professor at the Free University in Amsterdam.

A graduate of Houghton College, Dr. Mouw studied at Western Theological Seminary and earned a master’s degree in philosophy at the University of Alberta. His PhD in philosophy is from the University of Chicago. He is author of many academic papers and popular articles, and has authored numerous books, the most recent being Adventures in Evangelical Civility: A Lifelong Quest for Common Ground.
