Renewing Worship Conference 2020

Experience vibrant worship and be equipped for leadership in worship. We will explore practices of prayer for community worship, how to enrich worship through language and liturgy, and the relationship of the arts to the church’s praise. Theological and practical explorations!

The Rev. Dr. Lisa Weaver is a Professor of Worship at Columbia Theological Seminary. She is an academic who has thought carefully and deeply about the church’s worship, and is a practitioner who has gifts to help others think about leadership and the content of our worship. We look forward to her sharing concerning corporate prayer.

The Rev. Joyce Borger is an ordained minister of the Christian Reformed Church and the Editor of the journal Reformed Worship, and rich and creative resources for those who plan and lead worship. Joyce will help us consider the intersection of Sunday worship with the everyday worship of our lives.

Mr. Phil Irish is an artist and Professor of fine Arts at Redeemer University College in Ontario. He has exhibited at the Kitchener Waterloo Art Gallery, the Art Gallery of Guelph, and his contribution to a fine arts competition was exhibited in the National Gallery. He is committed to the integration of art and faith/worship. More on his work, here.

The conference schedule and more specific themes will be available in the coming days.

In addition to our creative and gifted speakers, we will be led into worship each day by the following team. We will be lead creatively and faithfully into the worship of God, through and with Christ our worship leader.
