Leading Prayer in Worship – Online Study, Fall 2022

Over past years, leadership in worship has expanded to include those who are not ordained—with lay people reading scripture, offering prayers, sharing announcements, and preaching. In some ways this trend was accelerated during the pandemic. Online services often saw many new voices added in the leading of worship, and participating in new ways.

This six-week study will support and equip non-ordained leaders in the practice of leading in prayer. We will explore the content of various types of prayers, and consider the structure of worship and how our presence and movements contribute to worship and prayer. Registration for this study requires active participation, including weekly assignments for the six week period.
