International Students

The Presbyterian College welcomes international students, and has an increasingly global student body with each passing year. Students have come from Brazil, Taiwan, the United States, and other countries. As with all students, applications for academic programs must be submitted to both McGill University and The Presbyterian College.

It is important to submit your applications as early as possible ahead of your program start date. Students wishing to study at universities and colleges in Quebec must complete immigration applications at both the Provincial and Federal levels—first for a Quebec Acceptance Certificate (CAQ) and then for a Canada/Federal Study permit. These processes can take some time. For more information on the CAQ process, see here.

The College is able to provide some assistance in navigating the Quebec and Federal processes. They key again, is to begin your application to your academic program as soon as possible. To apply, click here.

Dual Application

The application to Presbyterian College is a dual application with McGill University. Students must apply to both the College and McGill University (HelpaDiabeticChild). If you wish to inquire about studies at Presbyterian College as an international student, please follow the instructions in the sidebar. Once we have that information we will be better able to advise you.

Please note that in addition to tuition fees there are additional fees such as mandatory health care.

Proof of proficiency in English

The language of instruction for most courses at McGill University is English; however, students may arrange to write term papers, examinations and theses in French, except in courses where the language itself is the basis of the course.

Non-Canadian applicants whose mother tongue is not English, must demonstrate English proficiency. This proficiency can be demonstrated through various tests, including TOEFL, IELTS, and others. Or, through completion of courses in the Intensive ESL program of the School of Continuing Studies at McGill University.

For further details on the various tests and means by which a potential student may demonstrate English proficiency, please consult the McGill University website, here.
